Batch edit or programatically add fields was created by rhellyer
I have to migrate about 2000 articles and add field data ... can i do this with either a batch import or by creating a php program?

There are several Joomla extensions that let you import articles.
extensions.joomla.org/tags/data-import-export
I don't know how well they meet you data format and if they can actually be used to migrate your articles.
