Hikashop & Hikamarket compatibility è stato creato da nossibe
Hi,

I have some questions before buying the component.

Is it compatible with Hikashop and Hikamarket?

Is it possible to add the "Edit tags" button on the HikaMarket add product form (frontend)?

Is it possible to use a Hikashop view to display the search result to keep the same layout as on listing product pages?

Sorry for my bad english, I'm french.

Regards, Nossibe

Compatibility tests with Hikashop have not been done in a long time.
If I recall right, there were several limitations.

To properly assess if current version of Hikashop's fine products are compatible with Custom Properties we need a few business.
I count on replying after Easter holiday (i.e. beginning of next week)

Test has been carried out. Here's the outcome:

ver: hikashop 2.3.0
assign tags: yes
search : yes

product category: no (1)
product images: no (2)
product start/end publishing: no (3)
product ordering = 'order': no (4)
image preview: no
support archived state: no

Basically it works. You can assign Custom Properties Tags to Hikashop products and search them afterwards using any CP modules.
But:
(1) Hikashop supports a one-to-many product-category relationship, that is not supported by Custom Properties
(2) Hikashop supports a one-to-many product-images relationship, that is not supported by Custom Properties; product images are in fact stored into a separate table.
(3) no support for start date publishing data - stop publishing date, because Hikashop stores them as Unix timestamps instead of the more common DATETIME format
(4) no support for 'ordering' sorting option, as Hikashop stores that value into the product-category relationship table, to manage the product ordering within a given category.

All in all is a very poor compatibility.

Thank you Andrea !

So if I understand correctly, it is above all categories that are not compatible.
I want to use tags to replace Hikashop categories (which generates many urls for each product page), so except for categories, the only things that don't work are images and Unix timestamps dates.

To be usable by Custom Properties, informations just have to be recorded in the Product table. Is that correct?

Please see the following screenshot:

The upper image shows a result item from a standard Joomla article. The second one is from an Hikashop product.

In the latter there are missings elements::
- the image
- the category in the result summary

Other things won't work either:
- sorting by 'Ordering'
- the search-by-range-date feature(because of the date format issue)
- beginning of sale and end of sale for products won't be honored (same reason as above)

To be usable by Custom Properties, informations just have to be recorded in the Product table. Is that correct?

As a general rule, it is so.
With a relevant exception: the category is supposed to be stored in a dedicated table, with a one-to-one relationship. Most third party extensions and Joomla articles are designed in that way.
