Will CP Search search into Weblinks component?

I have a client who has a series of publications sorted by year. I have them organized using the core Joomla Weblinks component. Now they'd like to me to use the CP Properties tool to search down into all the Weblinks categories. Is this possible? And if yes, how?

Custom Properties can handle weblinks. You only need to install the relevant Content Element connector, provided in the default package.

I have created two custom components that are copies of the Web Links component that save data in our JOS_CRPRESENTATIONS and JOS_CRPUBLICATIONS tables, and we'd like to add them to our content element as an available content element. How can we do that?
